What a great list! And very international. I think I need to borrow some of your titles for my list. But there are lots of books listed here that I’d love to investigate. Dianna Wynne Jones is another author I’m leery of …….. my daughter read one of hers and really disliked it, but I know so many people who love her; she must have some good books, right? Now that you’ve added to my TBR list, I wonder how I’m going to figure out how to add more hours to the day!
Thanks, borrow away! I made a deliberate effort to make it international, although–after difficulties I’ve had finding various translations this year (for other projects), I may need to check to see if some of these titles are actually available. I’ve read three Diana Wynne Jones titles (Howl’s Moving Castle and its two sequels), which I enjoyed, although I can see that she might not be everybody’s cup of tea.
Wonderful list! I’ve been checking off which classics I’ve read and what to read next, but this is the first time I’ve seen a great list like this–thanks!
Thanks! I do have to go through it again and check for availability of some of the titles, as I just recently discovered that some are hard to get ahold of, especially books from other countries. Feel free to use it for inspiration for your own reading.
